FIFTY-PLUS YEARS ON THE JOB TRAINING!
On September 7, 1970, I made a Covenant with God. I vowed to serve Him for the rest of my life if He would reveal His "realness" to me. At eleven years old, I was too independent to be dependent upon a God that I did not personally know; although, my mother, aunts, and members of the Church spoke highly of and served, I would have to know for myself that this God was real. Therefore, I put God to the test and God proved Himself worthy of my inquisitiveness! It took eight days, but on Labor Day evening, 1970, God answered my prayer by baptizing me in the spirit of Jeremiah the Prophet. During this experience, I told God that because He had shown Himself sovereign and doused my soul with the supernatural Holy Ghost "fire" that caused me to acknowledge His realness, I would serve Him for the rest of my life. I told God if He told me to "jump!" I would ask "how high?" If He asked me to "run!" I would ask "how fast?" If He told me to "walk!" I would ask "in which direction?" Little did I know, at eleven, God would take to heart my desire to serve Him and hold my words over my heart for the rest of my life. And here, fifty-three years later, God continues to order my steps; I still cannot say "No" to the assignments He wills me to do. I have a charge to keep and a God to glorify in this 21st century.
I encourage all to remember, God chooses whom God chooses; I never had an inkling God would use me to be the scribe to write a book to God's Church (believers); nor would I have dreamed the world would be in the predicament it is in today, but God is Omniscient. This condition of the world God created did not slip up on Him, and true worshipers know that God is not a "fairytale;" therefore, as any good father who hears the cries of his children, sooner or later, God would have to show up and show out on their behalf in God's way! Our Father is interceding by answering the prayers of His children. Confirmation of this proclamation can be authenticated via God's declaration to His people found in Isaiah 55:5-11.
